Megan Fisk, LMSW, is the Director of Center Families at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. Megan is a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Megan's focus on sexual health, reproductive health and wellness, and healthy relationships has enabled her to work with diverse populations of all ages and stages. As Director of Center Families, Megan organizes education and support services for prospective parents and families in the LGBTQ community, as well as oversees the groundbreaking LGBTQ Foster Care Project. In its almost 20-year history, Center Families has helped thousands of LGBT people who are parents and those who would like to be parents. Center Families facilitates a number of support and networking groups for those planning biological parenthood, and for those interested in adoption and foster care. In the spring of 2012, Center Families began providing couples/relationship counseling as well as families resource coaching. The program assists family-serving agencies such as foster care agencies and educational institutions in meeting the needs of LGBT families and provides opportunities for families to meet safely with one another for socialization, education, community building and empowerment.
