Q: same sex adoption

I'm from Califronia and my wife and I are lagally married. She is currently pregnant due in February! We used a known donor, who has no problem giving up his parental rights. My questions are; when should the adoption process take place and will I be able to sign our daughters birth certificate at the time of birth?

A: Response from Will Halm

I'm sorry your email has been unattended to for so long. It just slipped through the cracks. Congratulations, by the way, on the pregnancy!

I would suggest that you contact attorney Deborah Wald. If she is in your area, she can help....and if not, she can refer you to another attorney in your area who will be able to assist.

Deborah H. Wald Attorney at Law phone (415) 648-3097 fax: (415) 648-3098 88 Kearny St, Suite 1475, San Francisco, CA 94108

Best of luck to you!
